Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic Malayalam superstar Mohanlal entertained his fans with Drishyam 2 - The Resumption. Now as per reports, Panorama Studios International’s Kumar Mangat Pathak & Abhishek Pathak have acquired the right of the movie to be remade in Hindi. The producer confirmed the news over a statement staying that they feel just like the first part of Drishyam was hugely successful, they also have hopes for its sequel. Also the producer duo feels the story needs to be told with full passion. 

Confirming the news, Kumar Mangat Pathak said, “With the huge success of Drishyam 2, the story needs to be told with passion and commitment, and we as Producers are committed to that.” Malayalam’s version producer Antony Perumbavoor is happy that Panorama Studios International have acquired the rights as he feels the production will do justice to the film. He said, “We are happy that Panorama Studios International has acquired the rights for Drishyam 2 and I am certain the Production house will justify the film.”

Director of Drishyam 2, Jeethu Joseph is happy and shares that the production banner will make sure that the film reaches a wider audience when made in Hindi. He said, “The story of Drishyam 2 resonated with people and I am so glad that Panorama Studios will make it reach to a wider audience with the Hindi remake. I am looking forward to it.”



Few months ago, Ajay Devgn and Tabu who featured in the first part of Drishyam were also reported by TOI to have given nod to the movie. "Ajay and Tabu have agreed in principle to play the leads. The balance cast however is yet to be decided. The paperwork of buying the rights from the original's producer is almost done," informed the source.
